This antique structure turned into a college in 1613, was built in the early seventeenth century, when the Jesuits established themselves in the town and built the third "Casa Professa" in Sicily. In its interiors it conserves a characteristic high portico built with burned clay columns. Nowadays the convent houses the Public Library.
The square in front of the college and the surrounding churches (St Ann, St Ignatius) can, in all effects, be considered a real urban jewel, and the visitor cannot overlook the architectural harmony of this square.
