It was the first church founded by the Norman in the twelfth century (1163) and it is dedicated to their patron saint. It is situated in the lower part of the ‘Monte’ quarter and was the mother church until the fifteenth century.
Only a few relics of the original complex remain, such as the lateral portals. The main facade dates back to 1598 and its single nave interior still holds the eighteenth century wooden ceiling and a fourteenth century marble Baptismal Font.
